Situated close to the centre of Kegworth, Handkerchief Nursery is ideally placed for easy access to busy parents working in the surrounding cities, towns and villages. Although officially in Leicestershire, we have a Derby post code and are just yards from the county borders of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. Only 2 or 3 minutes away from East Midlands Airport, the A42 and M1 bring us within easy reach of many busy centres of industry. Loughborough is within 10 minutes travel, Nottingham and Derby approximately 15 to 20 minutes
The custom designed buildings have been developed with your child's safety in mind - all on one level with no awkward steps or stairs for the younger children, high level power points and door and window locks well out of the reach of little fingers. All of the windows in the nursery are made of laminated glass or safety glass and of course is designed to cope with the heaviest of knocks.
This together with the best in play and educational equipment, ensures that your child is safe and happy whilst in the care of our experienced nursery nurses and nursery assistants. Parents cannot help but to be impressed by the magnificent display of certificates on view in our reception area. Most of the staff have certificates for first aid, from either St John's or the Red Cross, as well as basic food hygiene certificates and fire fighting skills certificates.
Handkerchief Nursery are one of the very few private nurseries to boast a full time fully qualified nurse and also the monthly services of our local 'Health Visitor' which is rarer still!!. We even have a "Carer of the year" award winner!!
Both entrance doors are protected by coded digital locks and entrance to the complex is protected by 6 ft high wooden gates. Handkerchief Nursery is set in two acres of simple but safely laid out gardens with over 100 trees and is perfect for all manner of activities and includes swings, a slide and a 65 metre aerial zip wire! If your child likes animals, we have a dove cote with about 20 white doves, a tank of goldfish, a beautiful and very large pond with approx. 150 Koi carp. We also have 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and an American Cocker Spaniel (Bonny, Clyde and Bugsy), and on most days a beautiful pair of visiting mallard ducks! An 'all-weather surface' play area is ideal for the "not so good days" and the swimming pool, (we are the only nursery in Leicestershire with a pool!) is great for the really good days!. Throughout the day, each child is offered a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities, creating a homely but stimulating environment for our young visitors with love, care and security.
